Curtin Writers Club
Welcome to the Curtin Writers Club. We’re thrilled to have you all along for the ride.
First, we need your help. The O-Day limerick competition has closed and we need to choose the winner to take away a $20 Dymocks voucher. We’ve narrowed it down to three finalists but they are all so good we can’t quite decide. Please help us VOTE for a winner! Voting closes at midnight on February 28th, so get in there quick.
The Curtin Writers Club executive team have been working hard over the past few months to arrange a wide variety of events and opportunities to keep those pens flowing throughout the year. We’ll keep you updated on any events we hold throughout the year.
We’re running peer-to-peer workshops every Tuesday from 3:00-3:45pm, and every Friday from 11:00-11:45am. You’ll be able to do some exercises, share your work, and get back feedback from your fellow writers as you learn and grow together. Our first workshop is on February 28th. If you want to know more, we have all the workshops listed in detail on our Facebook page. Let us know if you’re going to our workshops by clicking the event link and share that you’re interested in attending.
For all of you wishing to meet other writers at Curtin, we’re hosting a bunch of social events throughout the year so you can network with fellow writers and students. We’ll be hosting monthly book catch-ups where you can swap books, review books, and talk about books to your heart’s content. We’re also busy planning a fan fiction writing event, and we’ll be posting updates so keep on checking the Facebook page and website to keep up to date with event announcements.
Uni Isn’t Just About Study
Week One is nearly upon us, and we know you’re probably stressing. Uni may be hard work, but if you know the right people, visit the right places, and join the right clubs, you’ll have a blast too. If you have any concerns, check out our resources and advice on professional development.
We hope you have a wonderful first week of semester and thank you so much for joining the family at Curtin Writers Club. We look forward to getting to know you all a lot better throughout the semester, and the year to come.
